Thin spray liner is a chemical-based layer or coating (3–5 mm) that is sprayed onto the rock surface to support mining excavations. It is a thin cementitious spray on liner that provides robust structural secondary support and consolidates various problematic rock types. TSL penetrates deep into the rock mass along open fractures and joints, acting as a hard rough gouge that fills and increases the cohesion across the fractures. This strengthens the rock mass and limits the ability of the rock fabric to move.
Rapid application, small equipment, and less material per square.
Quick application with high area coverage enables early reaction against ground movement. Key blocks are maintained in place from an early stage helping the rock support itself. One of the main advantages of TSL is the speed of application, especially where limited face time is available in the case of multi-blast conditions. Less material is used with the advantage of reducing your shaft time and transport costs.
